Less than a stone to go... about 9 pounds should do it. Freeweightloss.com.
I'm going to start making some more of my own clothes again. I think it'd be cool to model my own creations. I've got several dressmaking projects that need doing anyway: I need to make myself a hipster miniskirt to go with my vintage-style jacket (I haven't seen anything in the shops that fits the bill); I've agreed to mend a shirt of Ash's that he managed to rip somehow; and I think I'm going to make my gown for the summer ball. This online fabric shop seems to have quite good prices - and you can get material samples sent for 50p each (which is essential really, buying off the net).

It's been well over two months now, and still waiting for the photos from Len Goldapple... I mean, I know he's had problems with the chemicals/equipment and everything, but it was a "prints for time" agreement, and I gave my time... It's just been a bit of an annoyance not to have had the photos for the interviews and castings I've been to.

I've decided to go in for a paid shoot with a pro photographer (with make-up artist and the rest of it) to get some quality photos for my portfolio. After my exams, when I'll have lost enough weight/inches and got my hair done, I'll arrange to do it.

I think my eyes are to be my main 'selling point'. It's the feature that is most often commented upon - Simon told me they were very sultry, Brian commented that they required very little digital editing (they're very white, which isn't the case with everyone, it seems), one make-up artist declared they were the most attractive eyes she'd "ever had the pleasure of making up", John called them fantastic, and Jason today said they were great.
Well, today was the Playboy lingerie magazine casting with the photographer Byron. To be perfectly honest I'd be highly surprised (though delighted) if he decided to book me for the job. I arrived, showed him a couple of photos (on the laptop, as I still have no paper prints!), he noted down my measurements, thanked me and showed me out. He didn't even ask me to change into lingerie. Afterwards, I went to visit JFT models, who put me forward for the casting. Jason seemed like a nice enough chap and was reasonably encouraging (though not overly enthusiastic), but I'm not going to discuss the model who arrived not long after me, who had also been sent to the casting...

I've been invited by JFT Models to attend a casting on Friday for the Playboy Book of Lingerie. I have to be sure that it would be worthwhile before I make my mind up to go. The one thing I'm concerned about is my measurements - I don't suppose for a moment that I'm thin enough (and, to put it bluntly, 'perky' enough, given the artificially-enhanced competition) to be in Playboy.

I think I'm going to investigate into trying out Pilates - Sophie Dahl swears by it since it helped her achieve her new streamlined size 10 physique. Good for muscle tone, relaxation and posture, apparently.
By the way, Cadbury's light chocolate mousse: bloody marvellous. 68 calories per pot and absolutely yummy! It's actually surprisingly easy to stick to 1,000 calories per day if you know how ;-) I might add some pages on this site for health, fitness and diet information.

I had my shoot with John Keedwell today. I left home at 8:00. We were shooting from 11:00 until 18:00 with a break for lunch (healthy pasta and vegetable meal!), but despite it being a long day it was very enjoyable! I can't wait to see the results (he was using film, so it's not instant as it is with digital!). We did work with a lot of dramatic and moody light/shadow effects, and I'm really looking forward to seeing how they all came out. I will hopefully be able to see some scans by Monday evening. He seemed to quite like working with me, and praised me for my patience! Oh, and he even paid my travel expenses too, which is pretty nice :-)
Girls, girls, girls. An Elite Model Management search inspires some of the hottest babes in the area to try out for the big time. For years they’ve had people telling them how pretty they are, how they should be models, and now it’s the moment of truth. These Elite people are not amorous teenage boys or doting grannies - these are professionals. Inevitably, not everyone will make it: As Fred Howard puts it, "A lot of girls who are the prettiest girl on the block peak at being the prettiest girl on the block".

Today I went to Uckfield for a shoot with Nick Goodliffe. It was quite a long day (and the studio wasn't particularly warm!), but it's all experience, and he covered my travel expenses so I haven't even lost anything.

I went back to Brian's today to see the photos from the shoot. There are some absolutely fantastic ones there - some he's already played about with a little. He did me a CD of all the images so that I could have a good look through at my leisure.

Sheila has linked to me in her journal, so I thought I'd return the favour.
I just had my shoot with Brian Brown - and it became my first outdoor shoot! He's in Dover so we went out to the cliffs (sadly, though, the footpath has been closed off due to the foot and mouth outbreak) and the St. Margarets at Cliffe beach. We got some more really good images out of it - looking at the pictures (oh the joy of digital!) I was quite delighted with how a lot of them turned out. We did some studio portraits as well as the outdoor shoot.
A quick piece of advice for would-be models: never say that modelling is your 'life-long ambition' or 'all you ever wanted to do', because it looks tacky, unprofessional, and as though you haven't really thought things through.

So on Friday I went to London with two purposes: 1) to attend an interview with Cameo Models; 2) a photoshoot with Simon Coe (ibook). The interview went well - Nadine said that I had a 'great look' but needed some better pictures. She's recommended a photographer who can shoot the right style of pictures (with stylist and all that) for a fee of £150. I am considering going for it, but either way I'll wait until I've lost a little more weight and have more experience in front of the camera. I was also filmed for a channel 5 documentary while I was there, too! After that, the shoot with Simon was an absolute blast - he was just experimenting with various techniques, but we got some (in my opinion) great pictures done! All in all, a fun day!
